Thursday 18th October 2018 - 14:10 to 15:10 I made a quick visit to the park to see if there were any fungi to interest our guided walk in two days time. It was a fine sunny autumn afternoon. One of the first birds I saw was a handsome male Pheasant  by the rockery. He was probably seeking sanctuary from the shoot. It was noticeable how many geese had reappeared. There was a flock of some 25 Canada Geese  with an Egyptian Goose  among them. More Mallard  than recently and the usual few Moorhen  were in pairs. The Jays  were very active and mixed flocks of Tits  were working their way through the bushes. A Common Buzzard  was circling over the flats - the first for a while. A full list of the birds seen is given in the Bird Table .
