Saturday 26th January 2019 - 11:00 to 12:00 This was a special group walk for the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch for Worth Park. A total of 18 people took part including 4 children who are especially welcome. 19 species were seen and a total of 144 birds were recorded. The rules of the scheme only allow you to count birds that are "landed" in the patch and that are seen at the same time. So probably more birds were seen than could be recorded. The highlights were: a flock of Siskins feeding in the alder trees; a Nuthatch ; a Great Crested Grebe ; a Treecreeper ; a House Sparrow (a sign of the times) and our Egyptian Geese . A special thank you to Janet Rose and Ian Beedell for organising and leading the walk. It was much enjoyed and provided useful data for the national survey. A full list of the birds seen is given in the Bird Table .
