Saturday 13th July 2019 - 9:45 to 12:00 Even the youngest Canada Goose  has grown to be nearly as big as the adults. The flock is over 50 in number. The two adult Great Crested Grebes  were around but I did not see the young one. I hope it is surviving. A Stock Dove  flew down to the edge of the lake to drink. I tried to photograph it for our library but it was very wary and flew off. They seem to be much less confiding than the Woodpigeons  or even the Collared Doves . The young Moorhens  and Coots  are growing like gangly teenagers. It was a treat to see a female Blackcap with a juvenile . A terrapin  was floating near the lily pads. Large Carp  were feeding at the surface and occasionally jumping clear of the water. A full list of the birds seen is in the Bird Table .
