Wednesday 14th April 2021 - 10:30 to 12:30 After the unseasonal cold and even snowy weather; it was a sunny and mild morning. We heard and then found a Blackcap in the large weeping willow tree. The four Egyptian Goslings are almost fully grown with adult plumage. They are starting to drift away from their parents. The two Great Crested Grebes were displaying in a half-hearted way. They were near "their" nest which has been built up; but was occupied by a Coot. A Mallard has a group of some 10 very young ducklings in close tow. A pair of Coots has about 6 newly-hatched young. There were several Pied Wagtails in the meadow and on the croquet lawn. A full list of birds seen is given in the Bird Table .
