Monday 4th October 2021 - 11:00 to 12:30It was a sun-shower day; bright sunshine with sudden heavy rain showers at the same time. There was a low rainbow over the houses at the north end of the lake. When we were young this weather was called a fox's wedding. We saw a new bird for our patch list - a very smart male Mandarin duck. When we first saw him he was dozing on the bank. Later he was swimming with some of the many Mallards.A Cormorant was fishing but did not catch any of the quite large fish cruising just below the surface.A full list of birds seen is given in the Bird Table.
