Saturday 23rd October 2021 - 13:15 to 14:30 It was a grey but mild day after the heavy rains of the last week. The water level in the lake was high. All but two of the Canada Geese had disappeared. A Grey Heron sat on the small island looking miserable the whole time we were at the lake. There were a lot of Mallards , a flock of Goldfinches and a mixed tit flock . It was good to see a Goldcrest , two Nuthatches and a Jay . The fenced-off wild flower area by the lake is greening up as the first of the grass comes up. A full list of birds seen is given in the Bird Table .
