Alan Barwick will talk about “Vanderbilt and the London to Brighton Stagecoach” The talk covers briefly the history of early coaching on the London to Brighton Road and then continues about what is referred to as the Coaching Revival Period in the late 1800s. Then we will hear about the American Vanderbilt family and in detail about Alfred Vanderbilt who ran his coaches on the Brighton Road between 1908 and 1914. Start at 2 pm, ending at 4 pm. We have a break in the middle of the talk. Tea or coffee and biscuits are on us. O Our membership fee is £30.00 for individuals and £55.00 for couples. We have 11 meetings per year. The membership year is the calendar year.
