Monday, 17th January 2022 - 11:00 to 12:30 There had been a sharp frost overnight and there were still patches of ice on the lake even though the sun was shining. It was good to see two Great Crested Grebes as well as two Egyptian Geese together. The young Mute Swan is becoming a regular fixture. We were pleased to see a Dunnock and a Goldcrest. Two Nuthatches were exploring an ideal nest hole in one of the large trees by the lake. We must keep an eye on it and see if the take up residence. Around in Gratton's Park a Song Thrush was singing and, surprisingly, a man was swimming in the stream. A full list of birds seen is given in the Bird Table .
