Some of the young Egyptian Geese, Worth Park lake

We tried to combine spotting the birds with the long Thursday Wellbeing walk. It probably reduced the number of birds recorded as we had to hurry along to keep up. Nevertheless it was an enjoyable walk in warm weather. It is good that the family of Egyptian Geese is still intact with eight growing goslings . Unusually there were no Canada Geese and the Mute Swan was not on the lake (one has been seen in Grattons Park recently). There were young Woodpigeons among the adults. The young do not have the white collar. Two Grey Herons were nice to see. There were very few gulls . But autumn is coming and no doubt they will return. A full list of the birds seen is given in the Bird Table .
