Egyptian Goslings 21st March 2024, Photo: Tom Howard-Jones
It was a bright, fresh spring morning with, unusually, no rain for my second record of
the year.
Birds were singing all around the park led by
Wrens
,
Great Tits
,
Blackbirds
and
Jackdaws
.
The pair of
Egyptian Geese
had first appeared with their newly hatched brood of 13
goslings over the weekend. They still have 13 although it is difficult to count them as
they move so fast.
The pair of
Grey Herons
were off their nest and standing on the top of the tree. It
looks like there may be 2 young in the nest but we will have to wait to find out for
sure.
The flowering trees and shrubs were a picture.
The daffodils, primroses and cowslips confirmed that spring has arrived.
A full list of the birds seen is given in the
Bird Table
.
