21/02/2025: Stephen Peters: Another one of our Camellia plants here at Worth Park has been given Plant Guardian status. It is located down by the lake and the name of the Camellia is: Camellia japonica 'Maud Messel'. You can view the published record on the Plant Guardians website.(The Messel attribute is of special interest to us. Nymans, a National Trust property situatednot far from Crawley, was bought by Ludwig Messel in1890. Maud Messel was the wife ofLeonard Messel, the eldest son of Ludwig, who inherited Nymans in 1915.)
